What it’s all about.

Theme- “Building Bridges: Bridging the Gap Between Innovation and Tradition!”

For centuries, bridges have played a crucial role in overcoming obstacles like valleys, rough terrain, and bodies of water. The key to a bridge's longevity lies in its strength and durability. In the upcoming competition, participants will showcase their engineering prowess by constructing truss bridges using standard-sized popsicle sticks. The strength of these bridges will be put to the test as loads are applied to the center of their top sides, making for an engaging and challenging event
roadmap

Flow of Event

Introduction
The participants will be given complete details about the event and its rules, score counting procedure, negatives, and elimination for the smooth conduction of the event
Team Making/Registration
Participants will be making team comprising of 3 - 5 members.
Working Time
Working time can be flexible, Students can design and build their models on their own.
Inspection
After the completion of the working time, Teams will be presenting their models for inspection for Testing Round.
Testing Round
In this round the submitted structure will be tested on basis of its design and load withstanding capability.
Prize Distribution
The team whose structure withstands the maximum weight and does not collapse under simulated conditions will be considered winner. The winning team will be awarded certificates, medals and sponsor rewards.

Rules and Regulations

1. This is team event. Each team should have 3 to 5 members

2. The winning bridge will be determined by its ability to hold the largest load.

3. The bridges will be weighted (number of popsicle sticks) before testing. In the case of a tie, the lightest bridge will be declared the winner.

4. Laminating is allowed to make the thin sticks thicker.

5. Bridges are to be constructed before the Inspection Round begins. Bridges will be broken as part of testing.

6. Loads will be applied to the centre of the top side of the bridge.

7. The load will be applied till the bridge is completely broken.

8. The bridges will be loaded from the top, the loading bar will be placed roughly over the center .

9. The use of plastic glue/ hot glue/ glue gun/ Feviquick is strictly prohibited.

10. Any paint or any other coating aside from glue is not allowed

11. Use of prohibited items and ill-treatment with coordinators and jury members may pave the way for your disqualification.

12. Write the name of your team members, branch, year on a slip attached with your bridge.

Structural Constraints

1. Bridge length must be in range (min 400 mm – max 500 mm).

2. Bridge width must be in range (min 100mm – max 150 mm)

3. Bridge height must not be greater than 150 mm

Material Required

1. Each participant, or team will work with maximum 300 popsicle sticks (standard size 4.5 inch).

2. White paper

3. All purpose, nontoxic glue (note: crazy and industrial glue are not permitted). White glue is the only glue permitted (e.g. Fevicol MR, Fevicol SH, Wooden Fevicol).

4. Hot glue (glue gun)/ Feviquick is strictly prohibited.

Judging Criteria

1. Bridge strength will be tested by the application of the load at its centre till the structure breaks.

2. The bridge withstanding the maximum amount of load will be declared as winner.

3. In case of a tie the bridge with less number of sticks will be given advantage.
